“Best Haunted Pub Crawl… Entertaining From the First Step to the Last…Felt Like We Were Stepping Into the Past” ⭐

Every once in a while, a guest captures exactly what a tour experience feels like in a way that even a tour guide couldn’t describe better. Recently, a guest left this wonderful Yelp review after joining one of the History, Haunts, & Hahas! Charleston haunted pub crawls, and it perfectly sums up what these nights exploring Charleston are all about.

“This was the best haunted pub crawl, it was entertaining from the first step to the last! The pubs she chose along with the stories she told felt like we were stepping into the past. Between locations you could point to almost any building or garden and she could tell you the history of it and if there's documented paranormal activity. One could tell this was her passion and it was very addictive in a fantastic way. When I got back to the hotel room I immediately started researching Charleston's historic buildings. We didn't see any ghosts on this haunted tour but we had tons of laughs and left with a renewed passion in our hearts for these souls that refuse to loosen their grip on the past and move on to another realm. Do this ghost tour, you won't regret it.”

Reviews like this are incredibly meaningful because they highlight something that sits at the heart of History, Haunts, & Hahas!: curiosity. Charleston’s history has a way of pulling people in, and once you start digging into the stories behind the buildings, streets, and legends, it’s hard to stop.

A Haunted Pub Crawl That Feels Like Time Travel

Charleston is one of the oldest cities in the United States, and walking through the historic district at night can genuinely feel like stepping back in time.

On a Charleston haunted pub crawl, the experience isn’t just about hearing ghost stories. Guests explore the streets where pirates, merchants, smugglers, revolutionaries, and scandalous characters once lived and worked. Along the route, historic pubs provide the perfect setting for stories that blur the line between history and legend.

Stops often include historic areas around Meeting Street, Market Street, Vendue Range, East Bay Street, and the old waterfront, where centuries of Charleston’s nightlife and trade once unfolded.

Between stops, nearly every building has a story. Charleston is one of those rare cities where simply pointing at a doorway, garden wall, or cobblestone alley can unlock a fascinating piece of history.

History First, Ghost Stories Second

One thing many guests notice on History, Haunts, & Hahas! tours is that the stories always start with the history.

Charleston has documented tragedies, mysteries, crimes, and cultural traditions that shaped the city long before ghost stories appeared. The paranormal stories come later, layered onto the real people and events that happened here.

Sometimes guests experience something unusual during a tour. Sometimes they don’t.

But as Felicia’s review perfectly captures: even without seeing a ghost, the stories, laughter, and history make the experience unforgettable.

When Curiosity Continues After the Tour

One of my favorite parts of guiding tours is hearing from guests who say the stories inspired them to keep researching Charleston’s history after the tour ends.

Charleston is a city where every street corner hides centuries of stories. The goal of History, Haunts, & Hahas! Charleston ghost tours and haunted pub crawls is to spark that curiosity so guests leave with more than just a fun night — they leave with a deeper appreciation for the people, events, and legends that shaped the city.

If a tour sends someone back to their hotel room eager to start researching Charleston’s historic buildings, I consider that a huge success.

Experience Charleston’s Haunted History for Yourself

If Felicia’s review has you curious about Charleston’s haunted side, the best way to experience it is to walk the streets yourself.

Bring your curiosity, your sense of humor, and maybe a friend or two.
