Fast Friends & Double-Dipping Tour Guests 🤩

POV: Just finished delivering a public tour to people who were strangers 3 hours ago. I’m on the deck of Tommy Condon’s speaking with The owner of another small business I was assisting with coverage for, Holy City Walks / Real Hauntings Charleston. Small businesses tend to band together and have no problem helping each other out because we all share a vision.

One of my guests comes out and is delighted to see me again - despite having just finished the tour 20 minutes or so ago. We banter whimsically back and forth for a bit.

We giggle a bit more and have a little more chatter before she heads back inside with her group.

Brandon, who appears to be a bit confused, asks if we knew each other / how long we knew each other. Casually, I said “just met her a few hours ago,” smiled warmly to myself, and nursed my sweet tea.

One of her companions from the tour is texting me to set up the next adventure. These enigmatic three ladies came back from Myrtle Beach, an hour and a half drive away, just two days later to attend a ghost tour I was guiding. I prepped their custom hats and put them in my bag for later.

I ran into these ladies on route on another tour. we had a quick flurry of whispered schoolgirl-level excitement, and I preemptively slid them their hats like it was contraband while my current tour group was occupied using the bathroom.

The tour I’m operating continues. Later, I glance at the time to check my pacing, and this picture is sitting in my DMs. I grin ear to ear.

As the night progresses, it’s time to meet my new friends again, and I’m so psyched to welcome them back and provide their next tour - a walking ghost tour - to see the spooky side of Charleston.

Here’s us altogether after the tour!

I’m in the business of tours, sure. But also…People. Relationships. Conversation.

I feel so honored when tour guests become friends, and it’s such a delight to host guests who come back for more of my tours.
