On a recent deep dive, I found the Charleston Museum’s website. The museum is the first in the United States, so it’s kind of a big deal 💁♀️! Scrolling through, I found there is a section titled “Ghost Stories.” I was surprised for a museum to have any ghost stories listed, but just one? Hmm…
Clicking the historic image shown, you will be navigated to the Hannah Hayward House at 31 Legare Street.
Continuing down the rabbit hole, I found a variety of stories about the property and also that of 32 Legare Street. Mind you, this link is a “dot com,” so there’s no certainty of credibility. Nonetheless, there’s some interesting reading there. It’s a pretty soft core story. I even told my little one this story. It’s the first one I thought wouldn’t scare him to tears!
This is just me compiling my research, sources, and comments for certain topics while you can be a fly on the wall. Some blogs may appear barren, but come back to see progressi. Book a Charleston history and ghost tour with History, Haunts, & Hahas! today.
