Curious about the paranormal… but a little nervous about what it might imply? 👻✨

That’s actually incredibly common.

One thing I want potential guests to know before booking a tour with History, Haunts, & Hahas! is this:

This is NOT a tour designed to challenge your faith, contradict your beliefs, or pressure you into believing anything supernatural.

Whether you’re deeply spiritual, religious, skeptical, science-minded, paranormal-curious, or somewhere in-between — I meet you where you are. I intentionally adjust language and explanations in ways that match your comfort level and worldview.

Some guests call it ghosts.

Some call it energy.

Some call it residual memory.

Some call it psychological.

Some call it spiritual.

And honestly? We can explore all of it without invalidating anybody’s perspective.

Another thing people quietly worry about:

“No offense… but are the ghosts dangerous?” 😅

Truthfully, just about every spirit associated with our route feels far more playful, curious, social, mischievous, or honestly… bored… than violent.

A lot of the more interactive experiences people report feel less like “demonic attack” and more like:

“an invisible person wearing a blanket and giggling because they got your attention.”

The other major difference with my tours is the framework of ethical storytelling.

These aren’t just ghost stories.

They’re human stories.

I value integrity, transparency, historical research, and treating the people behind the hauntings like actual human beings instead of props for entertainment.

And as strange as this may sound:

I genuinely believe respectful storytelling changes the atmosphere.

Think about it this way —

If you were stuck somewhere for generations while people constantly lied about your story, mocked your trauma, exaggerated your life, or completely rewrote history for entertainment… you’d probably be frustrated too.

Giving people their voice back matters.

And honestly?

The ghosts seem to appreciate it.

Still nervous about “hitchhiker ghosts” or lingering energy after the tour?

If carrying a crystal, saying a prayer, setting an intention, or bringing sage or palo santo gives you peace of mind — that’s completely okay.

For many people, those things are less about “fighting evil” and more about grounding yourself and feeling emotionally secure.

I always encourage guests to remember this:

Nothing has power over you without your consent or surrender of your own agency.

You are allowed to set boundaries.

You are allowed to say:

“Hello.”
“I’m here respectfully.”

And:

“Goodbye.”

Intention matters.

And yes… if you use sage or palo santo afterward, please crack a window open so the energy has somewhere to go instead of inspiring ghost parkour. 😂

If you’ve been wanting to explore Charleston’s haunted history but were nervous about taking that first step, maybe this is your sign.

Because at History, Haunts, & Hahas!, the goal isn’t fear.

It’s curiosity.

Humanity.

History.

Connection.

And maybe a little cosmic weirdness along the way. ✨
